JOB DESCRIPTION

Estimator (Please Apply from Signage Companies Only)

• Five or more years relevant estimating experience — construction, interior fitout, joinery, metalwork, cladding,facade, electrical or signage.

• Accurate take-offs from 2D drawings and written specifications.

• Rate build-ups, and comparison of subcontractor and supplier quotations.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel. Tested at interview.

• A PDF measurement or take-off tool — Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Cubit, CostX or comparable.

• High standard of written English. Able to write a clear RFI, assumption note and escalation without rewriting.

• Demonstrated remote delivery to an overseas client team.

• Degree or diploma in civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, architecture, or interior or

industrial design; or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Preferred

• Pricing for an Australian, UK, US or Gulf client base.

• Signage, wayfinding, shop fitting or retail rollout work.

• Estimating inside a manufacturing company rather than a consultancy.

• Experience submitting priced work directly to a client, with the judgement that goes with it.

• RICS, AIQS or IIQS membership.

• Australian Standards and state planning-scheme signage rules.

• The rate library, product set and templates.

• The internal systems and the tender portals.

Attributes

• Identifies scope gaps and prices assumptions explicitly rather than guessing.

• Distinguishes a pricing decision from a commercial decision, and escalates the second without needing to be reminded.

• Will say no to a job that fails the eligibility test rather than having a go at it.

• Works a fixed shift reliably with minimal supervision.

• Accepts review and correction without defensiveness through the ramp period.

• Communicates before a deadline slips.

• The tender portals and government procurement platforms, under a named individual seat

Hours

• Fixed 6:30am – 3:30pm IST, Monday to Friday.
