Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Estimation Engineer role based in Kozhikode. The Estimation Engineer will review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for synthetic sports surface projects. The role involves analyzing material, labor, and equipment requirements, obtaining and comparing vendor and subcontractor quotations, and assisting in value engineering to optimize costs without compromising quality. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and sales teams to clarify technical details, support tender submissions, and update estimates based on design changes. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining estimation records, updating cost databases, supporting negotiations with vendors and clients on pricing, and providing timely estimation reports to management.
Qualifications
- Strong technical foundation in Civil Engineering, with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and standards relevant to construction and sports infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience in Project Estimation and BOQ preparation, including quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and cost breakdowns.
- Proficiency in conducting Research on materials, suppliers, market rates, and construction methods to support accurate and competitive estimates.
- Effective Negotiation skills to support discussions with vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on pricing and terms.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with estimation and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, and relevant estimation software); experience with AutoCAD or similar tools is an advantage.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work with deadlines in a project-driven environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
