Job Description

Position Overview

The Estimation & Planning Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, project schedules, and monitoring execution timelines for industrial infrastructure projects including factories, warehouses, PEB sheds, utility buildings, and allied civil works.

The role requires coordination with design, procurement, site execution, finance, and compliance teams to ensure cost control, timeline adherence, and contractual compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation & Tendering

Quantity take-off from drawings (Civil, Structural, PEB, MEP).

Preparation of detailed BOQ with rate analysis.

Cost estimation for:

Industrial sheds

RCC structures

PEB buildings

Roads, drainage & infrastructure works

Vendor / subcontractor rate comparison.

Preparation of tender documents and techno-commercial evaluation.

Risk analysis during bidding stage.

2. Project Planning & Scheduling

Preparation of:

Bar charts

CPM / PERT schedules

Primavera / MS Project schedules

Resource planning (manpower, material, machinery).

Baseline schedule preparation and tracking.

Weekly & monthly progress monitoring.

Delay analysis and mitigation planning.

Preparation of recovery schedules if required.

3. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring

Budget allocation and cost tracking.

Variance analysis (Planned vs Actual).

Preparation of MIS reports for management.

Certification of subcontractor RA bills.

Monitoring project cash flow.

4. Coordination & Documentation

Coordination with:

Design consultants

Structural engineers

Procurement team

Site execution team

Preparation of:

DPR (Detailed Project Report)

WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)

Project dashboards

Maintain documentation as per ISO standards.

5. Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to:

Contract conditions

Company SOPs

Safety norms

Quality standards

Support statutory compliance related to project documentation.

Assist management in audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.

3–10 years experience in industrial / EPC projects.

Experience in factory, warehouse, PEB shed estimation preferred.

Strong knowledge of:

Rate analysis

Concrete & steel quantity estimation

Industrial costing

Technical Skills

MS Excel (Advanced level)

AutoCAD

MS Project / Primavera

ERP systems (preferred)

Knowledge of IS codes & industrial construction practices
