Job Description

About the Role

This role is for a 6-suite heritage boutique property in Jaipur, managed by Alt Homes, a hospitality partner focused on curated, high-touch estate experiences. We are not a hotel in the conventional sense. We are an estate with a citrus orchard, a pool, a distinct character, and guests who choose us precisely because we are not a chain.

The Estate Host is the most important hire we will make. You will be the single point of continuity i.e.  the person guests remember, the person the team looks to, and the person Alt Homes trusts to uphold the standard when no one else is watching. This role sits between a boutique General Manager, a personal concierge, and a host who genuinely loves having people over. It is not a desk job.

What You Will Own

I. Guest Experience

  • Maintain a polished yet warm presence in the lobby, acting as the primary point of contact when guests arrive
  • Personally handle all check-ins and check-outs ensuring no delegation of the first and last impression
  • Anticipate guest needs before they are voiced (silent service); build micro-profiles of each guest during their stay in coordination with the reservations team.
  • Manage all in-stay communication i.e.  WhatsApp, calls and in-person with warmth and efficiency
  • Resolve guest concerns with discretion and handle complaints and service failures with composure; resolve first, escalate only if essential
  • Curate local recommendations, itineraries, and dining reservations tailored to each guest

II. Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of all 6 suites including housekeeping rounds, room readiness, maintenance snags
  • Conduct daily briefings to discuss special requests, guest preferences and operational priorities
  • Maintain suite inventory including amenities, linen, minibar, welcome kits etc. and flag replenishment proactively
  • Coordinate with kitchen, housekeeping, and support staff; be the team anchor, not just a supervisor
  • Manage vendor access on property i.e. laundry, florals, maintenance and  more without disrupting guest spaces
  • Maintain the daily log and a periodic comprehensive update for Alt Homes review as per a mutually agreed upon frequency
  • Support training initiatives to elevate service across all guest-facing departments

III. Events & Experiences

  • Be present and operational for all on-property events & experiences including supper clubs, picnics, workshops, corporate events, occasion based celebrations etc. 
  • Coordinate event logistics: guest flow, vendor setup, catering coordination, timing management
  • Act as the face of the event for guests; ensure the experience feels effortless even when it is not.

IV. Revenue & Reporting

  • Manage reservations via the PMS; update availability and flag rate queries to Alt Homes
  • Track occupancy, guest feedback, and operational issues through a weekly report to Alt Homes
  • Assist in converting direct enquiries; understand the value of upselling without being transactional
  • Be the eyes and ears on the ground and flag anything that could affect guest experience or property reputation

What We Are Looking For

Non-negotiables

  • 2–4 years in luxury or boutique hospitality with experience in hotel front office, resort guest relations, or similar
  • Exceptional spoken and written English; Hindi fluency essential for staff and vendor coordination
  • High emotional intelligence i.e. reads a room, adjusts tone, never makes a guest feel processed
  • Impeccable personal presentation and communication at all times
  • Comfort with technology: PMS, WhatsApp Business, Google Sheets, basic reporting
  • Willingness to live on property or within 10-15 minutes because this role requires physical presence

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in an independent or boutique property (not just large chain hotels)
  • Exposure to events management, experience curation and/or F&B coordination
  • Aesthetic sensibility: understands why design and detail matter
  • Familiarity with OTA platforms, channel managers and reservation systems

Location

This is an on-site role in the outskirts of Jaipur city (45 minutes from city centre). 

Compensation & Perks

Compensation will reflect capability, ownership & relevant experience and will be guided by industry benchmarks. Accommodation and food will be provided on-site. 

Working Reality 

  • You will sometimes be the only senior person on property. You will need to make judgment calls without being able to ask anyone first.
  • You will be supported by Alt Homes remotely for all decisions beyond your authority, so you will never truly be alone.
  • This is an early-stage property. You will help shape what it becomes. That means imperfection is expected; what we need is someone who fixes things, not someone who reports them and waits.
