Key responsibilities
1. Pollution control & Environmental compliance
. Ensure compliance with regulations of the Central pollution control board (CPCB) and respective state pollution control board (SPCB)
. Manage and renew environmental licenses and approvals such as:
Consent to Establish (CTE)
Consent to operate (CTO)
Hazardous waste authorization
Environmental clearances
. Monitor air emissions, effluents and waste management systems.
. Maintain compliance with environmental laws including
Water (Prevention and Control of pollution) Act, 1974
Air (Prevention and control of Pollution) Act, 1981
Environment ( Protection) Act, 1986
. Coordinate environmental monitoring, testing and audits.
. Maintain statutory registers and submit periodic returns to authorities.2. BRSR (Business responsibility and sustainability reporting)
. Lead preparation and submission of BRSR reports and mandated by SEBI
. Collect ESG data from various departments
. Ensure compliance with SEBI BRSR Core requirements
. Track and report key ESG performance indicators such as:
o Energy consumption and energy efficiency
o Water consumption and recycling
o Waste generation and disposal
o Carbon emissions and environmental impact assessments
o Social and governance indicators.3. ESG and sustainability reporting
. Develop and track ESG KPI's aligned with frameworks as :
Global reporting initiative
Task force on climate-related financial disclosures
. Support sustainability initiatives
. Prepare sustainability disclosures for annual reports and investor communications
4. Internal coordination
. Work with operations, legal, finance and HR teams
. Conduct training programs on environmental compliance and ESG practices
5. Ensuring certification from any/ or both
. Dow Jones sustainability Index ( DJSI)
. MSCI ESG rating
. India -specific ESG / BRSR rating
