ERS Open || Hardware Design Engineer Power Delivery

• Hands on experience in Electronics circuit design or hardware system/board design related to VR design, Power delivery and HW Power management domains.
• Design efforts includes understanding platform architecture and requirements to come up with design specification, schematics capture and integration, PCB layout review against design guides, component selection, release of Bill of Materials, support
• Should have hands-on VR validation with some of the basic tools.
• Should be able to do and review schematics entries in Concept HDL tool.

Core Responsibilities:

• Design & Schematic Capture:Develop electronic circuit designs, capture schematics in tools (like Concept HDL), and select components (VRMs, inductors, capacitors) for power delivery.
• PCB Layout Review:Conduct detailed PCB layout reviews for complex, multi-layer boards, focusing on power/signal integrity, EMI/EMC, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Simulation & Analysis:Perform simulations (SPICE, etc.) to verify design performance, analyze trade-offs, and predict behavior under various loads.
• Validation & Testing:Develop and execute test plans, build prototypes, debug issues, and validate hardware performance in the lab using relevant tools.
• Documentation:Create detailed design specifications, test reports, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design guidelines.
• Collaboration:Work closely with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for seamless integration and production.
• Support:Troubleshoot production issues, address hardware/software compatibility problems, and manage design revisions.

Key Focus Areas:

• Platform Architecture:Understand platform requirements (e.g., for GPUs, CPUs) to design effective power delivery networks (PDNs).
• Power Integrity:Ensure stable and clean power delivery to high-speed components.
• DFM/DFT:Design for manufacturability, testability, and assembly.

Tools & Skills:

• Tools:EDA software (Cadence, Mentor Graphics), simulation tools, Concept HDL, lab equipment.
• Skills:Strong electronics fundamentals, analytical problem-solving, communication, and knowledge of standards.
