About The Opportunity
A frontline clinical role in a fast-paced multi-specialty hospital environment focused on managing acute medical and surgical emergencies. The Emergency Medicine Physician will be responsible for rapid assessment, stabilization, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department while ensuring timely coordination with specialty teams and adherence to hospital quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, trauma, and critical emergencies.
- Perform rapid triage, stabilization, and emergency interventions in time-sensitive situations.
- Manage emergency cases including cardiac events, stroke, trauma, respiratory distress, poisoning, sepsis, and acute abdomen.
- Coordinate with specialists, ICU teams, nursing staff, and support departments for seamless patient care.
- Perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, suturing, fracture stabilization, and resuscitation where applicable.
- Lead and participate in code blue and emergency response activations.
- Ensure timely clinical documentation, medico-legal records, and discharge/admission summaries.
- Monitor patients under observation and escalate care appropriately when required.
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices, NABH standards, and emergency department protocols.
- Support patient and family communication regarding clinical condition and treatment plans.
- Participate in departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical accuracy, and operational efficiency in the Emergency Department.
Must-Have Qualifications
- MBBS with MEM / DEM / FEM / MRCEM qualification.
- Valid Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) / National Medical Commission (NMC) registration.
- Prior experience in Emergency Medicine preferred.
- Strong exposure to trauma care, ACLS, BLS, and emergency stabilization desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure and fast-paced clinical environments.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
