About the Role
We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on equity research, financial modeling, company analysis, investment research, valuation, and capital markets.
In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated outputs related to company financials, equity research reports, earnings analysis, valuation models, industry research, and investment recommendations. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for financial reasoning, investment analysis, equity research, and capital market intelligence.
This position is ideal for professionals with experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management, buy-side or sell-side research, corporate finance, or investment consulting.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing real-world equity research and investment analysis scenarios.
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated equity research reports, financial analyses, valuation models, and investment insights.
- Assess AI outputs for financial accuracy, analytical rigor, logical consistency, and investment relevance.
- Analyze annual reports, quarterly earnings reports, investor presentations, conference call transcripts, and regulatory filings.
- Evaluate AI-generated outputs related to revenue growth, profitability, cash flows, margins, business drivers, competitive positioning, and investment risks.
- Build or review valuation methodologies including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis (CCA), and precedent transaction analysis.
- Conduct market sizing, industry analysis, competitive benchmarking, and sector outlook assessments.
- Identify financial inconsistencies, valuation errors, unsupported assumptions, accounting issues, and analytical gaps in AI-generated outputs.
- Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in equity research and financial analysis workflows.
- Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards.
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on investment research, corporate finance, and financial intelligence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management, financial analysis, corporate finance, or investment advisory.
- Reading and analyzing annual reports, financial statements, earnings releases, and investor presentations.
- Building or reviewing financial models, DCF valuations, comparable company analyses, and investment recommendations.
- Conducting industry research, market sizing (TAM, SAM, SOM), competitive analysis, and sector outlook assessments.
- Evaluating earnings quality, revenue drivers, profitability, cash flow trends, and key financial metrics.
- Preparing equity research reports, investment notes, initiation reports, or company updates.
- Analyzing companies across Indian and global markets while considering macroeconomic and sector-specific factors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and presentation development.
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, FactSet, PitchBook, or similar research platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written English communication skills.
- Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for financial accuracy, investment relevance, and analytical quality.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with investment banks, brokerage firms, asset management companies, hedge funds, mutual funds, private equity firms, or research firms.
- Experience covering one or more sectors such as Technology, Banking & Financial Services, Healthcare, Consumer, Industrials, Energy, or Infrastructure.
- Experience preparing earnings previews, earnings reviews, initiation reports, thematic research, or sector reports.
- Knowledge of Indian stock markets, SEBI regulations, corporate governance, and listed company disclosures.
- Professional certifications in investment analysis or financial research are highly desirable.
