Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ME Equipment Engineer with strong expertise in manufacturing processes, tooling design, and Special Purpose Machinery (SPM) for automotive applications. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in concept design, feasibility studies, 3D modelling, and tooling development for TCF (Trim, Chassis & Final) assembly systems.

The candidate will play a critical role in designing and developing assembly tooling, robotic fixtures, pallet systems, and automation solutions while ensuring adherence to quality, manufacturing, and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Independently design and develop TCF tooling and SPM systems for automotive assembly applications.

Create accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using industry standards.

Apply GD&T, fitment, and tolerance principles effectively in mechanical designs.

Design and validate lifting devices, robotic grippers, pallet lines, skillets, hangers, bumpers, and pre-assembly fixtures.

Conduct feasibility studies, pre-investigations, and integration analysis for vehicle models and manufacturing systems.

Interpret shop floor layouts and recommend process optimization strategies.

Work with 3D printed components, including material selection and application suitability.

Develop linkage mechanisms and apply assembly constraints efficiently.

Select standard components and coordinate with global suppliers for procurement support.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, automation, and design engineering.

Required Skills & Experience

3–6 years of experience in automotive or heavy engineering industries.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly tooling systems.

Hands-on experience with automation systems and robotic integration.

Proficiency in:

CATIA V5

Teamcenter

AutoCAD

Teamcenter Vis Mockup (preferred)

Knowledge of Volvo ME standards will be an added advantage.

Strong understanding of:

Mechanical design principles

Material properties

Tooling standards

GD&T and tolerance stack-up

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Excellent English communication skills.
