Role Summary

The Engineering Technician supports day to day laboratory and engineering operations in Micron's Global Engineering Labs (GEL). The role involves hands on equipment support, assisting engineers during validation and troubleshooting, supporting maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with Micron safety, EHS, and lab policies.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Engineering Support

Support installation, setup, and basic operation of lab equipment, testers, ovens, chambers, and engineering systems

Perform basic electrical, mechanical, and system level checks under engineer guidance

Support movement, placement, and safe handling of equipment and accessories

Maintenance & Operations

Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Calibration activities as per defined schedules

Coordinate with internal teams and approved third party vendors for AMC / PMC activities

Perform routine operational checks (power status, reboots, session checks, connectivity verification)

Identify early symptoms of equipment issues and escalate to engineers promptly

Provide desktop engineering support for lab and engineering systems

Hands on experience with:

Lab & Daily Operations

Load and unload DUTs, trays, cassettes, and accessories safely

Assist with tester setup activities including binaries, sessions, and basic configuration checks

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of lab areas, racks, and workstations

Support inventory tracking of lab consumables, tools, spares, and accessories

Documentation & Reporting

Update maintenance logs, activity records, and checklists accurately

Ensure Jira or internal tracking tools are updated with correct status and observations

Maintain documentation related to equipment usage, downtime support, and maintenance actions

Safety, EHS & Compliance

Strictly follow Micron EHS, ESD, and lab safety standards

Use appropriate PPE and ensure safe handling of tools and equipment

Support audit readiness by complying with lab manuals, SOPs, and QMS requirements

Immediately report safety incidents, near misses, or abnormal conditions.
