What You'll Do

The Buy Desk Specialist will primarily support the Global Procurement organization by guiding business users through the buying process, from initiating Purchase Requisition to creating, modifying, and maintaining Purchase Order ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of procurement operations, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to facilitate seamless purchasing activities.

Guidance and Support:

  • Assist and guide business users in the on correct buying channels, creation and submission of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Provide advice on procurement processes and policies to ensure compliance.

Purchase Requisition Validation:

  • Review and validate purchase requisitions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement guidelines.
  • Collaborate with business users to address any discrepancies or missing information.

Purchase Order Generation and Modification:

  • Facilitate the creation and modification of purchase orders based on approved requisitions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate order placement.

Approval Process:

  • Manage the approval workflow for purchase requisitions, ensuring that all necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to expedite approval processes when required.

Procurement System Management:

  • Utilize and navigate Coupa system effectively to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Coupa.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement processes.


What You'll Bring

  • University degree or equivalent
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience preferably in a service center, running procurement operations
  • Understanding of the end-to-end procurement processes (PR, PO, Invoice, Payment)
  • Understanding of Purchase-to-pay tools (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience of managing multi geographies across time-zones
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of managing SLA
  • Understanding of procurement policies, compliance, and risk management.


Who You'll Work With

We pride ourselves on a collaborative working environment and utilize digital tools to foster that collaborative environment across a global company. The Accounts Payables team is working to provide operations support to various BCG teams and managing external vendors. Your key stakeholders will include the Local Finance team located across the globe.
