Position: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Expert

Reporting To: Project Manager / Project Director
Role Purpose:
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Expert shall be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements across project sites. The role involves managing environmental impacts, promoting workplace safety, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting sustainable construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) plans, procedures, and management systems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, statutory requirements, and client specifications.
• Monitor environmental impacts arising from construction activities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Conduct environmental assessments, inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Prepare and maintain environmental management plans, monitoring reports, and compliance documentation.
• Conduct health and safety risk assessments and recommend preventive measures.
• Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks, environmental awareness programs, and training sessions.
• Monitor waste management, pollution control, erosion control, and environmental protection measures.
• Investigate environmental incidents, accidents, and non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and project teams on EHS matters.
• Ensure proper implementation of occupational health, safety, and environmental standards at site.
• Support sustainability initiatives and environmental best practices throughout project execution.
Educational Qualification:
• Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Planning, or Environmental Engineering.
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in similar Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) works.
• Experience in environmental monitoring, environmental compliance, and safety management.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, slope stabilization, hill road, geotechnical, or similar projects will be preferred.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, pollution control measures, and occupational health & safety requirements.
Desired Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
• Knowledge of EHS laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment and mitigation planning.
• Good report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections, audits, and awareness programs.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.
