Purpose of Job
Stantec has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Geologist to join our Pune Team on a permanent basis. This role will be involved in carrying out geological mapping, field investigations, construction inspections and supervision on a wide geological engineering projects across the APAC region including Philippines and Papua New Guinea. Essential Functions
Key Accountabilities
- Act as liaison between laboratory, field team, and project management during project implementation as a part of Data Management (DM)
- Perform data review and validation for multi-media chemical data in accordance with United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) National Functional Guidelines, USEPA Regional, and/or State guidelines.
- Evaluate and understand Sampling events, Sampling procedures and the Chain of Custody for Field Sample data preparation
- Evaluate environmental laboratory analytical data for compliance with project QA/QC requirements provided in project-specific Work Plans and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs)
- Prepare data usability format files for Water Levels & Field Forms (FFWL) compilation of QA/QC forms (EDD QC), tables and report writing using EQuIS Database.
- Maintain communications with Alliance Partners & Laboratories on requirements for data delivery.
- Support field efforts during preparation of sampling plans and preparation for field work.
- Manage data flow from the Alliance Partners & Laboratory to final reporting
Person Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or Engineering required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in environmental analytical chemistry
- Experience in environmental database software EQuIS is highly preferred
- Experience in laboratory procedures and QA/QC processes.
- Familiarity with USEPA analytical Methods
- Experience/familiarity with operation and use of analytical laboratory equipment (e.g., ICP, ICP-MS, HPLC, GC, and/or GC/MS) is preferred
- Knowledge of the principles and standards of scientific study, field investigation, sampling, experimentation, quality assurance of chemical measurements, research, and documentation
