Enterprise Architect (18-21 Years) -IAN Client Implementation

Role Purpose

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading the overall enterprise architecture for strategic and complex IAN client implementations.

The role ensures that IAN integrates effectively into the customer's enterprise ecosystem across business processes, applications, integrations, security, data, cloud, and operating model.

Working closely with customer Enterprise Architects, CIO/CTO organizations, Business and Operations leaders, Consulting Architects, Implementation Architects, Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Program Management teams, the Enterprise Architect defines the target-state architecture, transition roadmap, architecture guardrails, and governance required for successful IAN adoption.

This is an Individual Contributor leadership role with no direct personnel management responsibility. Success is driven by architectural depth, enterprise thinking, technical influence, customer advisory capability, and the ability to drive alignment across complex programs and organizational boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise architecture discovery and define the current-state, target-state, and transition architecture for IAN implementations, considering the customer's technology landscape, business processes, operating model, and transformation roadmap.
• Define the end-to-end architecture across workflow orchestration, enterprise integrations, APIs, data, security, cloud deployment, scalability, resilience, and observability, ensuring alignment with customer enterprise standards.
• Establish how IAN integrates with core insurance and enterprise platforms including policy, claims, underwriting, document management, CRM, identity, data platforms, and third-party systems.
• Define implementation architecture principles and guardrails covering configure vs extend vs integrate vs product enhancement, maximizing use of standard and reusable IAN capabilities while minimizing unnecessary customization.
• Provide architecture direction to Consulting Architects, Implementation Architects, and engineering teams, reviewing solution designs and resolving complex cross-system architecture dependencies and risks.
• Define architecture for AI-enabled workflows, including intelligent document processing, agentic workflows, decision automation, human-in-the-loop controls, traceability, monitoring, and appropriate AI governance.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to identify capability gaps, architectural constraints, reusable patterns, and product enhancements arising from client implementations.
• Lead architecture governance through design reviews, architecture boards, technical steering forums, and executive customer discussions, acting as the escalation point for strategic architecture decisions.
• Ensure production readiness across performance, security, availability, disaster recovery, supportability, release management, monitoring, and operational ownership.
• Provide architecture oversight across multiple workstreams or strategic implementation programs and ensure consistency between implementation decisions and the long-term IAN platform direction.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline, with 18–21 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Technology Consulting, Enterprise Software Implementation, or Digital Transformation.
• Strong experience leading architecture for complex enterprise implementations involving multiple applications, integrations, business processes, cloud platforms, and technology teams.
• Strong Property & Casualty Insurance domain knowledge, with understanding of underwriting, policy administration, claims, servicing, distribution, and document-intensive workflows. Commercial Lines and Specialty Insurance experience is preferred.
• Strong technical foundation in enterprise application architecture, distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, enterprise integration patterns, and Java/Spring-based technologies.
• Experience with BPMN workflow and orchestration platforms such as Camunda, Flowable, or jBPM, along with understanding of DMN, FEEL, business rules, and decision automation.
• Strong experience with enterprise integrations, middleware, Apache Camel or equivalent technologies, API-led connectivity, messaging, and third-party system integration.
• Strong experience with cloud-native architecture, containers, Kubernetes, microservices, and preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security and non-functional architecture including OAuth2/OIDC/SAML, identity federation, API security, performance, scalability, resilience, disaster recovery, and observability.
• Proven experience working directly with insurance carriers and senior customer stakeholders across North America and/or Europe.
• Strong architecture governance, consulting, stakeholder management, executive communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience working with insurance carriers and clients across North America or Europe.

Desired Skills

• Experience implementing configurable enterprise platforms or SaaS products within large insurance organizations.
• Exposure intelligent document processing, GenAI, AI agents, agentic workflows, and AI-enabled decision automation.
• Understanding AI governance, evaluation, traceability, human-in-the-loop controls, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience with event-driven platforms, enterprise data platforms, document management systems, and hybrid-cloud environments.
• TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent architecture certification preferred.
