About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Principal Architect to shape the digital strategy and target technology ecosystem. In this role, the enterprise architect will drive the creation of the target architecture towards business capabilities that are modular, composable cloud-native services on modernized infrastructure. The enterprise architect will partner with domain architects to design target banking platforms lending to reuse, resiliency, agility, and customer centricity.
The enterprise architect will be a passionate technologist that can go broad as well as deep - must have the experience to operate across the enterprise through the understanding of available technology and tools and be an expert in the solution architecture practice. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment and possess excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and reasoning skills.
In this role, you will:
Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop the architectural framework & delivery for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups
Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing the transformation strategy describing the current state, target state and transition architecture
Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an architectural domain expert advisor to leadership
Ensure applications adhere to established Wells Fargo standards, policies, methodologies and industry best practices as it transforms toward target state architecture
Drive the definition, establishment, selection of strategic tools, and application of architecture frameworks
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization and can influence internal and vendor roadmaps in a significant capacity
Required Qualifications:

7+ years of architecture in one or a combination of the following areas: enterprise architecture, solution architecture, application architecture, infrastructure or security, or security architecture
7+ years of experience creating architecture strategy, designs, and patterns
7+ years of software development experience
2+ years of experience with architecting solutions using leading vendor solutions and in-house developed systems
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management
Ability to negotiate/challenge, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Knowledge and understanding of applications technology management role, including managing applications development and support for multiple systems and business functions
Ability to identify key issues, involve affected parties, design solutions, obtain buy-in, and communicate effectively through resolution
Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
3+ years of experience using industry standards such as BAG, BIAN, TOGAF and architecture modeling languages such as ArchiMate, UML, BPMN, etc. leveraging BizzDesign Horizzon
Bachelor's and/or master's in computer science or information systems
Prior related experience leading and/or managing architecture strategies with architecture roadmap that aligns with business strategy and objectives
Deep understanding of cloud technologies (GCP, Azure) and familiarity with data center exit strategies
Good analytical skills to set data driven insights with high attention to detail and accuracy
Lead application consolidation and rationalization efforts and the related emerging technology assessments
