Architect – BFSI (Japanese & English Speaking)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Architect to support a strategic BFSI engagement in Tokyo, Japan. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, technology consulting, or digital transformation initiatives within Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) organizations. The Architect will work closely with business and technology stakeholders, providing architectural guidance, reviewing solutions, supporting transformation initiatives, and helping drive strategic technology decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and solution design discussions for BFSI initiatives.
• Define enterprise, solution, application, and integration architectures.
• Conduct architecture reviews, workshops, and stakeholder presentations.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across modernization and transformation programs.
• Support cloud, data, integration, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Work with global and local teams to align technology strategy and delivery.
• Identify architecture risks, dependencies, and governance requirements.
• Support technology roadmaps and future-state architecture planning.

Required Experience

• 12+ years of overall IT experience.
• Experience as an Architect, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Principal Architect, Technical Architect, or Consulting Architect.
• Strong experience within Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI).
• Proven experience engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in global delivery and multicultural environments.

• TOGAF, Cloud, Architecture, or BFSI-related certifications.
• Experience working with offshore and distributed delivery teams.

Engagement Details

This is a part-time contractor engagement for an initial duration of six months, based in Tokyo, Japan. The role requires fluency in Japanese and English and extensive experience in BFSI architecture and consulting.
