The Enterprise Architect (Application Portfolio Management) is responsible for the strategic, data-driven, and AI-enabled management of Olympus global application portfolio (1,700+ applications and growing). The role ensures full visibility, governance, and optimization of applications across on-premise, cloud, and SaaS environments.
This position focuses on aligning the application landscape with business strategy, driving application modernization, rationalization, and lifecycle management, while enabling data-driven decision-making through automation, analytics, and AI.
The role establishes a single source of truth for the application landscape by integrating tools such as LeanIX and ServiceNow, enabling continuous discovery, high data quality, and real-time insights.
Additionally, this role supports AI-enabled applications, automation initiatives, and digital transformation programs (e.g., RISE with SAP) by ensuring architecture alignment, risk visibility, and governance compliance.
The Enterprise Architect collaborates across business and IT to improve efficiency, reduce redundancy, manage technology risks, and support strategic transformation initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a modern, data-driven Application Portfolio Management (APM) strategy aligned with business and IT objectives.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for application lifecycle, ownership, and data quality.
- Define and enforce architecture guardrails, standards, and policies.
- Maintain a single source of truth for the application portfolio using tools such as LeanIX and ServiceNow.
- Drive automated discovery and synchronization of application data via integrations, APIs, and surveys.
- Ensure high-quality, complete, and up-to-date application metadata (ownership, lifecycle, cost, risk, interfaces, hosting model).
- Conduct portfolio assessments (business fit, technical fit, cost, risk, lifecycle status)
- Identify opportunities for rationalization, consolidation, modernization, and decommissioning.
- Apply frameworks such as TIME (Tolerate, Invest, Migrate, Eliminate) for portfolio decision-making.
- Optimize application usage to reduce redundancy and improve efficiency.
- Evaluate the architectural impact of emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and intelligent platforms.
- Enable use of AI-driven insights and analytics for portfolio decision-making.
- Promote automation of APM processes, reporting, and data quality management.
- Collaborate with Business and IT stakeholders (Application Owners, SMEs, architects).
- Drive adoption of APM processes and tools across regions
- Support transformation programs such as RISE with SAP and integrated toolchains
- Enable application roadmaps aligned to business capabilities and transformation initiatives
- Define and track KPIs (data quality, lifecycle coverage, redundancy, risk, modernization progress).
Highlight: Architecture Standards
- Support definition and enforcement of enterprise architecture guardrails
- Ensure alignment of applications with business capabilities, technology strategy, and governance frameworks.
- Incorporate standards for cloud, SaaS, AI, and automation architectures.

What we are looking for:
Education:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, application portfolio management, or related domains.
- Experience with APM / EA tools such as LeanIX, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
- Experience managing cloud and SaaS application landscapes
- Experience in application modernization, rationalization, or transformation programs
- Experience in regulated industries (MedTech/Life Sciences) preferred.
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of APM frameworks (e.g., TIME model)
- Experience with architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
- Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, and CMDB/ITSM ecosystems
- Understanding of AI/automation technologies and their enterprise impact
- Knowledge of technology risk, security, and compliance requirements
