Job Description

The Enterprise AI Platform Manager is responsible for the operational management, governance, and adoption of enterprise AI platforms. This role serves as the primary owner for day-to-day administration, user enablement, access governance, vendor coordination, and rollout of approved AI capabilities across platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Claude Code, Codex, and future approved AI services.

This individual works closely with Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, IT, Engineering, Procurement, and business stakeholders to ensure AI capabilities are delivered securely, efficiently, and at enterprise scale. The role also owns the operational backlog, support processes, platform health metrics, and continuous improvement of AI services.

Key Responsibilities

AI Platform Operations

- Administer enterprise AI platforms, workspaces, licenses, groups, and user access.

- Manage onboarding, offboarding, entitlement changes, and automated provisioning workflows.

- Maintain platform configurations, operational procedures, documentation, and service catalogs.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for platform support, escalations, and vendor issues.

- Monitor platform health, operational metrics, and support trends.

- Maintain and prioritize the AI platform operational backlog.

Access Governance & Consumption Management

- Manage entitlement tiers, credit limits, usage controls, and approval workflows.

- Review requests for expanded access, increased limits, and premium capabilities.

- Maintain audit records for approvals, exceptions, and governance decisions.

- Monitor usage trends, identify optimization opportunities, and investigate unusual activity.

- Partner with Finance and IT to support budgeting, chargeback, and license-planning processes.

AI Security, Risk & Compliance

- Evaluate new AI services, integrations, agents, developer tools, and platform capabilities.

- Coordinate reviews with Cybersecurity, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance teams.

- Facilitate risk assessments and governance reviews.

- Maintain inventories of approved, restricted, and prohibited AI capabilities.

- Define and document operational guardrails for AI agents, code execution, external connectivity, and enterprise data access.

Product Enablement & Adoption

- Manage intake, evaluation, and implementation of AI platform enhancements.

- Track vendor roadmaps, releases, and emerging AI capabilities.

- Coordinate pilots, testing efforts, and phased rollouts.

- Develop onboarding materials, training resources, FAQs, and best practices.

- Communicate platform updates, policy changes, and new capabilities.

- Support AI Champions and power-user communities to drive adoption.

Cross-Functional Leadership

- Partner with Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Procurement, and business stakeholders.

- Coordinate governance processes and approval workflows.

- Provide operational reporting on utilization, adoption, access trends, support metrics, and platform performance.

- Support executive and governance review meetings.

Decision Authority

The Enterprise AI Platform Operations Manager is authorized to:

- Administer approved AI platforms and configurations.

- Manage licenses, groups, access models, and entitlement structures.

- Approve routine user access requests.

- Manage approved consumption limits and operational settings.

- Coordinate governance and security review processes.

- Recommend feature enablement, pilot activities, and rollout plans.

The role is not authorized to:

- Accept cybersecurity, legal, privacy, or compliance risk.

- Approve new vendors or execute contracts.

- Override governance, security, or compliance requirements.

- Enable high-risk integrations without required approvals.

- Grant privileged infrastructure or production environment access.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

- Experience in enterprise application administration, SaaS operations, platform operations, AI operations, or IT service management.

- Experience managing identity integrations, provisioning workflows, and user entitlements.

- Understanding of AI governance, platform security, and enterprise adoption practices.

- Experience working with Cybersecurity, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance teams.

- Knowledge of Entra ID, SSO, SCIM, RBAC, enterprise access management, and provisioning workflows.

- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience administering ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI platforms.

- Experience evaluating AI agents, MCP servers, developer tooling, and enterprise AI integrations.

- Experience participating in security reviews, architecture reviews, or risk assessments.

- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, APIs, and enterprise integrations.

- Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar workflow platforms.

- Experience with automation, scripting, analytics, or operational reporting.
