Job Description
We are looking for a passionate English Teacher to teach Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students using Indian Sign Language (ISL), visual teaching methods, activities, workbooks, and digital learning content. The role involves conducting engaging classes, helping students improve their English reading and writing skills, and tracking their learning progress. You will also work closely with the programme team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students using ISL and visual teaching methods.
- Plan and deliver engaging, activity-based lessons.
- Support students in improving their reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Monitor student progress and maintain learning records.
- Collaborate with the programme team, families, and support staff to help students succeed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Strong English communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (ISL)
- Experience in teaching English or working with children is an advantage.
- Ability to use visual and activity-based teaching methods.
- Good classroom management and lesson planning skills.
