Job Description

Volunteer English Communication & Confidence Educator

Project Prajna empowers underprivileged adolescents aged 10–18 with the life skills schools rarely teach. We want to help young people think independently, express themselves confidently, and discover their potential.

We're looking for passionate volunteers who can help students overcome their fear of speaking English and find the confidence to express their thoughts, even if their English isn't perfect.

Our goal isn't perfect English. It's the confidence to speak, the courage to make mistakes, and the freedom to express oneself.

What You'll Do

  • Help students practise spoken English through conversations, storytelling, games, and role-playing.
  • Create a safe, encouraging environment where students aren't afraid to make mistakes.
  • Build everyday vocabulary, listening skills, pronunciation, and conversational confidence.
  • Design engaging activities that encourage students to share their thoughts, opinions, stories, and dreams.
  • Focus on practical communication rather than school-style grammar lessons or examinations.

Who Should Apply

  • Confident English speakers with clear pronunciation and natural, fluent speech.
  • Patient, empathetic individuals who enjoy working with children and adolescents.
  • Creative communicators who can make learning fun and engaging.
  • People passionate about education, equal opportunity, and social impact.

Prior teaching experience is welcome but not essential. Fluency, clear pronunciation, patience, and the ability to make students feel comfortable speaking matter most.

Time Commitment

  • 2–3 hours per week, flexible
  • Volunteer position
  • Remote

Why Join Project Prajna

You won't just be teaching a language. You'll be helping young people discover that their voices matter.

For students who have rarely had the opportunity to speak English, even a simple conversation can open up a world of possibilities. You'll have the freedom to experiment with creative teaching methods and build confidence from the ground up.
