English ASR and Transcriptionist ( WER )

*Job Title:* ASR and Transcription Captioning Specialist

*About the Role*

We are looking for an experienced transcription and captioning professional to review, correct, and produce accurate text from audio and video content, including ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) output, for media and transcription projects.

*Key Responsibilities*

- Transcribe audio and video content accurately, following project style guides

- Review and post-edit ASR-generated transcripts for errors in names, terminology, punctuation, and speaker labels

- Create and edit captions and subtitles with correct timing, sound cues, and formatting (SRT/VTT)

- Handle difficult audio such as accents, background noise, and crosstalk

- Perform quality checks and proofreading to meet accuracy benchmarks

- Meet turnaround times and daily or weekly productivity targets

- Flag unclear audio and content issues to the project lead

*Required Qualifications*

- 2+ years of experience in transcription, captioning, subtitling, or court reporting in media or transcription services

- Strong English listening, grammar, and punctuation skills

- High typing speed and accuracy (98%+)

- Familiarity with transcription and captioning tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Aegisub, Amara, Rev, Trint)

- Understanding of verbatim vs. clean verbatim conventions

- Reliable internet, quiet workspace, and headphones

*Preferred Skills*

- Experience with ASR post-editing or AI training data projects

- Knowledge of closed captioning standards

- Multilingual ability

- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
