Role Overview

Touchwood Engineering is seeking a highly skilled CNC Setter and Programmer specializing in Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC), Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), and Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL). The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in setting and programming high-precision components for Toyoda, Doosan, BFW, and Mazak HMC Machines.

Key Responsibilities

1 Machine Setup & Operation: Perform end-to-end setup of HMC, VTL & VMC machines, including fixture mounting, tool offsetting, and part alignment.

2. Programming: Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code and M-code). Proficiency in software and manual programming is highly preferred.

3 Technical Execution: Handle complex machining operations on HMC, VMC, and VTL machines to meet stringent design specifications.

4 Quality Control: Conduct first-part inspections using precision measuring instruments (Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Bore Gauges, etc. ) to ensure zero-defect production.

5 Process Optimization: Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to improve cycle times and tool life.

6 Maintenance: Perform preventive/routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor programming or mechanical errors to minimize downtime.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Education: ITI / Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering.

2. Experience: Proven track record in a precision engineering or heavy machinery environment.

Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

Problem Solving: Strong understanding of machining physics and the ability to troubleshoot chatter, finish, or dimensional issues.
