Senior Technical Lead – Mechanical Systems (Powertrain & Energy Solutions)

Location: Pune, India (Global interface with Germany / EU)

Experience: 15+ years

Function: Powertrain Mechanical Architecture & Systems Engineering

CAD Tools: Siemens NX (Mandatory)

We are transforming from a traditional engine manufacturer into a global system provider for advanced, sustainable drive and energy solutions for off-highway applications.

The Senior Technical Manager – Mechanical Systems will play a critical technical leadership role in this transformation, owning mechanical system architecture, engine–generator integration, NVH robustness, and platform scalability across diesel, hybrid, hydrogen, and electrified power solutions.

Role Purpose:

Lead and govern the end-to-end mechanical engineering of our powertrain and power generation systems, focusing on engine–generator integration, robust off-highway architectures, and future-ready platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1 - Mechanical System Architecture

  • Own mechanical architecture decisions including coupling concepts, SAE interface selection, and torque transmission strategy.
  • Define scalable architectures for diesel, hydrogen, hybrid, and electrified systems.

2 - Engine–Generator / Motor Integration

  • Lead mechanical integration of engines with alternators, motors, and inverters.
  • Drive flywheel, coupling, crankshaft interface, shafting, and housing design.

3 - NVH, Torsional Vibration & Durability

  • Own torsional vibration analysis, damping strategy, and critical speed avoidance.
  • Lead structural FEA, fatigue assessment, and vibration isolation design.

4 - CAD Governance & Engineering Rigor

  • Lead detailed mechanical design using Siemens NX.
  • Enforce CAD standards, design reviews, and engineering best practices.

4 - Prototype & Industrialization Support

  • Define prototype build and validation strategy.
  • Support supplier qualification and manufacturing readiness.

6 - Customer & Stakeholder Interface

  • Act as primary mechanical technical interface with customers and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 15+ years in powertrain, off-highway equipment, or energy systems

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Expert-level Siemens NX (UG NX)
  • Engine–flywheel–crankshaft interfaces
  • Couplings, gear adapters, shafts, housings
  • Torsional vibration and NVH fundamentals
  • Structural FEA and fatigue concepts
  • SAE interface standards and misalignment control
