Position: Engineering Problem Designer
Type:Independent Contractor
Compensation:$60$80/hour
Location:Remote
Duration:Approximately 2 months
Commitment:2040 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Design original, advanced engineering problems requiring creative reasoning and multi-domain integration.
- Evaluate AI-generated engineering solutions for technical accuracy and adherence to constraints.
- Identify logical gaps and incorrect modeling assumptions.
- Provide well-documented solutions using LaTeX for equations and schematics.
- Maintain high standards of technical precision and conceptual depth.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, civil, aerospace, or chemical engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing or grading complex analytical problems.
- Participation in or mentorship for engineering competitions.
- Research or teaching experience in applied problem formulation.
- Proficiency in LaTeX for technical document formatting.
Preferred
- Deep understanding of core engineering principles and real-world systems.
- Ability to communicate step-by-step reasoning and assumptions clearly.
- Strong intuition for problem difficulty and conceptual progression.
- Detail-oriented verification of results and internal consistency.
Start Date
- Rolling onboarding; start typically within 12 days after approval.
