About The Role
We are looking for a passionate Engineering Manager (Backend) to join our technology team in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead backend engineering initiatives, build scalable systems and APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance and reliable solutions that support business growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs alongside your team.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and design teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and responsiveness of backend systems.
- Manage databases and server-side architecture to support application functionality.
- Maintain code quality through code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Drive technical strategy, explore emerging backend technologies, and guide adoption.
- Manage team resourcing, performance reviews, and career development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 13+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years in engineering management or team leadership roles.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
- Experience with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, Redis, or MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with distributed systems (AI experience is a plus).
- Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Passion for building reliable and high-quality software.
