Role Overview:
We are a Series-B startup and are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager (EM) with strong expertise in Python and Go-lang to lead high-performing engineering teams while also contributing hands-on to technical development. This is a hybrid leadership role with an equal focus on people management and individual contribution (50% Team Management / 50% IC).
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management (50%)
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers
- Drive team performance, productivity, and career development
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and hiring discussions
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Design, and Business teams
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering projects with high quality standards
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and innovation
Individual Contribution (50%)
- Actively contribute to backend architecture, system design, and development
- Write clean, scalable, and production-grade code in Python and Go-lang
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and debugging
- Drive engineering best practices, performance optimization, and scalability initiatives
- Work closely with the team on solving complex technical challenges
Additional Responsibilities
- Be a technical expert on operational analytics solutions for networks, applications, and security workflows
- Take a hands-on role in integrating products to meet customer requirements
- Deploy solutions at customer environments, including understanding their data, workflow, and analytics requirements
- Collaborate with sales teams and partners for pre-sales activities
- Own the design, development, and execution plans for POCs and drive deployments to completion
- Improve product features and quality through enhancement proposals and customer feedback reviews
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python and Go-lang
- Proven experience managing engineering teams
- Strong understanding of scalable distributed systems and backend architecture
- Experience with analytics platforms, network/security workflows, or enterprise deployments is preferred
- Experience working in fast-paced product/startup environments is preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution
