As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn't changed - we're here to stop breaches, and we've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We're always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
CrowdStrike Falcon is a two-component security product. One component is the sensor, installed on endpoint client systems that observes system activity and recognizes malicious behavior, then provides on-box prevention capability and remote telemetry to the Falcon cloud. The Cloud component aggregates sensor telemetry for each customer's network and can correlate malicious behavior across multiple machines, presenting our customers operations teams with a prioritized summary of the threats detected in their environments.
Join CrowdStrike and become a key leader in revolutionizing how we validate and ensure the quality of the world's most advanced cybersecurity platform. As an Engineering Manager for our Quality Foundations team, you will lead the development and execution of innovative test tooling and data generation strategies that power our entire quality ecosystem. Your team will be at the forefront of leveraging cutting-edge technologies including VM-based lab environments, AI-driven tooling, and synthetic data generation to create realistic, scalable, and comprehensive test scenarios that ensure CrowdStrike Falcon remains the industry standard in endpoint security.
The Quality Foundations team is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure and tooling that generates high-fidelity test data representing real-world threat scenarios, customer environments, and edge cases at massive scale. This data is critical for validating sensor behavior, cloud processing pipelines, detection accuracy, and overall platform reliability. Your team will partner closely with sensor development, cloud engineering, threat research, and data science teams to ensure our testing capabilities evolve alongside emerging threats and platform innovations.
What You'll Do:
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team. Drive innovation, career growth, and hiring.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Define and execute the roadmap for test data (VM labs, AI tooling, synthetic data). Partner cross-functionally and champion AI/ML for realistic simulation. Improve test data quality and coverage.
Technical Leadership: Provide architectural guidance for lab infrastructure, data generation, and automation. Oversee scalable VM lab development and secure synthetic data implementation. Champion best practices (CI/CD).
Operational Excellence: Establish SLAs for data/lab reliability. Drive operational metrics, troubleshoot complex infrastructure, and ensure cost optimization.
Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively with distributed teams. Communicate technical strategy and build partnerships to align quality foundations with business goals.
What You'll Need:
5+ years of engineering management experience leading high-performing technical teams, with deep expertise in quality engineering, test automation, or infrastructure.
8+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant hands-on technical contributions in building scalable systems, testing infrastructure, or SaaS platforms
Strong technical depth in building and managing large-scale, complex virtualized lab environments (e.g., VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
Expertise in designing robust test data strategies (synthetic data, masking, realistic scenario modeling).
Proficiency in programming (Python, Go or C/C++) for building scalable automation frameworks and tooling.
Experience with modern infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD practices.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, resolve conflicts, and build consensus across diverse teams
Bonus Points:
Experience applying AI/ML to testing (e.g., generative models, intelligent test case generation).
Understanding of cybersecurity testing methodologies and threat landscapes.
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Background in data science or machine learning.
Experience with performance or chaos engineering.
