What You'll Do

As a Manager, AI Engineering, you will lead Teradata's highly visible, next generation AI products. In this role, you will:

• Be highly hands-on and drive the design, architecture, development, evolution, delivery and adoption of one or more AI products.
• Lead and develop high performing engineering teams including Staff and Senior Engineers.
• Shape the product vision, technology roadmap, and engineering strategy for AI products.
• Be deeply involved in technical decision making, providing guidance across coding, architecture, modelling, system design, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Cloud, Architecture, and Customer teams to deliver high impact, end-to-end capabilities.
• Champion best practices across the software development lifecycle, including code quality, documentation, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production excellence.
• Establish data-driven processes and feedback loops to continuously improve product quality, performance, and engineering efficiency.
• Build and sustain a culture of ownership, innovation, high accountability, and technical excellence across your teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, AI/ML advancements, and industry best practices to ensure long-term product and organizational success.

Who You'll Work With

You will work closely with engineering teams, product leaders, AI/ML experts, cloud architects, and customer facing teams across Teradata. This role reports to a senior technology leader and plays a critical part in defining Teradata's future in AI driven enterprise solutions.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

(Nonnegotiable qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• 11+ years of experience in large scale product development, distributed systems, or AI/ML, managing teams and senior engineering talent.
• Strong problem solving skills, familiarity with AI/ML technologies, including LLMs and agentic AI systems.
• Expertise in microservices development, RESTful APIs, cloud technologies, SDLC, CI/CD, observability and production operations.
• Experience building high quality products in fast-paced technology environments.

What You'll Bring

(Preferred qualifications)

• Proficiency with data stores (SQL/NoSQL), data modelling, and messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and modern deployment practices.
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot, and UI technologies.
• Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive alignment across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers, foster healthy team dynamics, and build scalable engineering organizations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to varied audiences.
• A growth mindset and ability to thrive in dynamic, fast evolving environments while continuously raising the bar.
