Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the stability, reliability, and seamless operation of payment processing systems across issuing, acquiring, and transaction processing platforms. The role will be responsible for managing critical production environments, driving operational excellence, resolving complex incidents, and leading a team to deliver high service availability and business continuity. Working closely with business, operations, and technology stakeholders, the incumbent will play a key role in maintaining robust payment ecosystem operations while supporting business growth and customer experience
The responsibilities we entrust you
- Payment Operations & Transaction Processing
- Oversee day-to-day payment processing operations across issuing, acquiring, and payment switch platforms.
- Monitor transaction flows to ensure timely and accurate processing of payment transactions.
- Manage batch processing, clearing, and settlement activities while ensuring adherence to operational SLAs.
- Ensure smooth functioning of payment gateway integrations and transaction processing systems.
- 2. Production Support & Incident Management
- Lead the management and resolution of production incidents, with a focus on critical P1 and P2 issues.
- Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring incidents.
- Monitor production environments proactively and ensure high system availability and performance.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for timely issue resolution and communication.
- 3. Stakeholder & Service Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for business, operations, and technology teams on production-related matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges and improve service delivery.
- Provide timely updates and escalation management during critical incidents.
- Ensure alignment between operational priorities and business objectives.
- 4. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and support processes.
- Drive automation, monitoring enhancements, and process optimization initiatives.
- Establish and track key operational metrics to improve service quality and performance.
- Ensure compliance with operational, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- 5. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing support organization.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Support resource planning, workload management, and skill development initiatives.
- Ensure team readiness for 24x7 support operations and on-call responsibilities.

Skills & Domain Expertise:
- Strong understanding of ISO 8583
- Hands-on experience in Issuing Systems, Acquiring Systems and Payment Switches
- Good knowledge of Payment Gateways
- Expertise in Transaction Processing, Batch Management, Clearing & Settlement
- Experience in production support and issue resolution within payment ecosystems
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Leadership & Other Skills:
- Strong solution design and problem-solving capability
- Experience leading high-performance engineering teams
- Ability to handle high-pressure, real-time production systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience Level
