Engineering Manager

An Engineering Manager is a key member of our software development organization, responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects. The role involves comprehensive project planning and management including setting project timelines, identifying resource requirements, and ensuring that delivery meets the highest quality standards.

You will also provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and processes. Overall, this role is critical to the success of our engineering initiatives and requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and motivation to ensure high performance and quality output.
  • Develop and execute project plans that align with business objectives, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Product Management, Design, Sales, and Marketing to ensure engineering efforts align with overall company strategy and customer needs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks or issues that may impact project delivery or team performance, and develop contingency plans where necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
  • Ensure that engineering processes, tools, and methodologies are optimized for efficiency, scalability, and quality and are followed consistently across the team.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to adopt innovative solutions that enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management and key stakeholders to provide updates on project status, risks, and dependencies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.
  • Strong background in software development and familiarity with modern engineering practices.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members effectively.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and at high quality standards.
