THE ROLE
Join the Direct Flash Module (DFM) Firmware Team to lead the design and development of our internally-designed, high-performance enterprise storage devices. You will drive the strategic execution and technical vision for a critical component that delivers superior simplicity, cost, and performance advantages for our FlashArray and FlashBlade solutions. This role is key to integrating the newest NAND technologies and requires close, cross-functional collaboration with Hardware, Purity Software, and NAND teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Drive Strategic Product Execution: Accountable for major DFM firmware product deliverables by managing, planning, and executing project schedules, resources, dependencies, and risks across multiple product cycles in collaboration with Program Management.
Scale Team Impact and Technical Excellence: Provide hands-on technical guidance for complex firmware design, debug, and integration challenges, ensuring alignment with overall product and system architecture goals.
Elevate Engineering Operations: Define, implement, and continuously refine the team's engineering development and Agile processes to enhance product quality, stability, and development velocity.
Lead, Mentor, and Develop Talent: Manage overall team performance, conduct regular 1:1s, deliver timely, actionable feedback, and actively champion the professional growth and career development of high-performing firmware engineers.
WHAT YOU BRING
Expertise in Embedded Systems Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and managing embedded software teams, ideally within the SSD, Storage, or highly-constrained embedded domain.
Deep Firmware and Hardware Integration Knowledge: Profound understanding and practical experience with firmware development, low-level hardware interfaces, and complex system-level debug and diagnostics.
Mastery of Storage Technology: Strong in-depth knowledge of storage concepts, including NAND media management, SSD controllers, or NVMe/PCIe interfaces, and the ability to rapidly integrate new technologies.
Proficiency in Software Development: Advanced competence in C/C++ and related scripting languages (e.g., Python) for developing robust, high-performance embedded systems.
Agile Project and Product Lifecycle Management: Proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects from initial concept through to final product release using Agile methodologies.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
