Why This Role Exists

Innovapptive has 22 mobile engineers (26% of the engineering org) across two platforms: 10 native

iOS/Android developers on legacy products (mWorkOrder, mInventory, mRounds) and 12 React Native developers on iMaintenance — the next-generation platform.

The React Native codebase has 8 separate branches of the SAME app — merge conflicts, duplicated components, no shared library, release chaos. Native apps are different apps (no consolidation needed) but on a sunset track as customers migrate to iMaintenance.

This is a player-coach role. You own BOTH tracks: driving the RN trunk unification and managing the native sunset.

What You Own

• Unified Mobile Platform: 22 engineers across native iOS/Android and React Native.

• RN track: consolidate 8 branches into a single trunk with CODEOWNERS per module. Feature flags for product isolation.

• Native track: manage sunset as customers migrate. Retrain native devs to RN or plan attrition.

• Mobile release management: single release train, crash-free >99.5%, p95 latency <300ms.

• Sprint allocation: products consume mobile capacity via sprint planning, not branch ownership.

• People: hiring, performance classification, coaching, exits for 22 engineers.

You Must Have

• 8+ years mobile engineering with 3+ years managing mobile teams (10+ people).

• Deep React Native expertise. Production RN apps at enterprise scale.

• Native iOS (Swift) AND Android (Kotlin/Java) experience — needed for sunset track.

• Track record of platform consolidation: merging codebases into a single trunk.

• Mobile CI/CD, automated testing, crash monitoring (Sentry/Firebase).

• Feature flags, sprint-based capacity allocation, shared component library architecture.

• Comfort with observability: Sentry crash-free dashboards, Mixpanel analytics, release health

monitoring.

Nice to Have

• SAP-integrated mobile applications or offline-first field operations apps.

• Sunsetting legacy mobile apps while maintaining production stability.

• AI-driven mobile features or agentic workflows.

• Industrial/enterprise mobile apps (energy, manufacturing, utilities).

You Will Be Measured On

• RN trunk unification: 8 branches → 1 trunk by end of Q2.

• Crash-free >99.5% (iOS and Android). p95 latency <300ms.

• On-time delivery ≥90%. Zero escaped Sev-1 within 7 days of release.

• Review participation: 100% MRs reviewed before merge. Zero self-merges.

• Native sunset plan: 3+ developers retrained or transitioned per quarter.

Observability: Sentry, Mixpanel, Realm (offline sync)

Tools: GitLab, Jira, TestRail, SonarQube
