Engineering Manager

Role: Senior Engineering Manager

The ideal candidate will be a talented full-stack Engineering Manager responsible for one of the product lines at Matrimony.com, collaborating with cross-functional teams - including engineers and product managers - to deliver new products and features for our customer centric go-to-live Market Business.

Location: Chennai (Work from Office)

Responsibilities:

• Architecture, design and development for the backend and the frontend.
• Work directly with product managers, designers, architects and developers to refine and ship features to our users.
• Lead a team of developers to deliver the product features.
• Proactively optimize client and server code to ensure testability, stability and high performance.
• Adapt and iterate quickly based on user feedback and product metrics.
• Be a mentor for the team members, and the quality gatekeeper for all features shipped by your team.

Skills & Competencies Required:

• In-depth experience with a JavaScript based frontend and backend library (React/Angular, Node.js and TypeScript / Java and Microservices)
• In-depth experience with data backends like MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis.
• Experience building out RESTful APIs or Graph QL end-points for high-traffic web applications.
• Experience in building distributed Systems.
• Hands-on experience in building and shipping products/features written in Type Script/JavaScript.
• Well versed with CSS or a framework like Tailwind, Bootstrap or Foundation.
• Should have exposure to AI coding tools.
• Experience in profiling, analyzing heap snapshots, digging into reliability metrics and refactoring code into modular chunks.
• Experience monitoring and operating a production level service.
• Must have led a team of 10–15 engineers comprising developers and QA for at least the past 6-8 years.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related field of study
• 12-18 years software engineering experience.
