Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Strategy
- Architect and drive the development of scalable, cloud-native applications supporting healthcare workflows while ensuring compliance, security, and safe handling of sensitive clinical data.
- Champion best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevOps.
Team Management & Culture
- Lead an engineering squad focused on advancing clinical and diagnostic solutions that measurably improve health outcomes.
- Hire, mentor, and grow engineers into strong individual contributors and future leaders while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, patient impact, and engineering excellence.
Platform Engineering & Interoperability
- Lead development of AI orchestration pipelines, structured reporting tools, clinician-facing dashboards, and supporting APIs, SDKs, and internal tools for rapid prototyping and deployment.
- Ensure platform readiness across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-first deployments (AWS, Outposts).
- Lead integration with EMRs, PACS, LIS/LIMS, and healthcare IT standards (HL7, FHIR).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Expertise
- 812 years of software engineering experience (backend/full-stack), including 23 years in engineering management in regulated environments (healthcare, pharma, diagnostics preferred).
- Hands-on experience in Full Stack or Backend development with React, Python, and RESTful APIs.
- Strong expertise in building cloud-native applications in containerized environments (Docker, AWS preferred).
Domain Understanding
- 4+ years of experience in life sciences, clinical systems, or diagnostics (oncology preferred).
- Exposure to RIS, PACS, EMR/EHR, MDT systems.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, ISO, MDR), with bonus experience on FDA/CE-marked medical software or SaMD.
Leadership & Communication
- Proven ability to lead distributed teams in fast-paced, highly regulated environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong decision-making ability balancing clinical needs, technical complexity, and product vision.
