Engineering Manager

Insight Global's Engineering Manager is a people-first technical leader who bridges engineering execution and business strategy. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for building, scaling, and leading high-performing engineering teams while ensuring delivery of quality solutions.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage software, data, and platform engineers across multiple initiatives.
• Own performance management, including goal setting, feedback, reviews, and career development.
• Handle resource allocation, team capacity planning, leave approvals, and staffing needs.
• Build bench strength through hiring, succession planning, and skill development.
• Foster an inclusive and psychologically safe team culture.

Hiring Responsibilities

• Participate heavily in technical interviews and candidate evaluations.
• Make final hiring recommendations and lock-in decisions.
• Serve as an ambassador for the engineering organization and help attract top talent.
• Partner with HR and leadership to improve hiring processes and candidate experience.

Technical Leadership

• Provide architectural guidance and technical direction.
• Review system designs, engineering standards, and code quality.
• Ensure teams build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
• Support engineering best practices without micromanaging teams.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary engineering contact for leadership and cross-functional partners.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
• Translate business objectives into engineering roadmaps and executable plans.
• Drive delivery of outcome-focused solutions.

Process & Engineering Excellence

• Champion Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Define and enforce engineering standards and documentation.
• Continuously improve delivery processes and engineering maturity.

Innovation & Strategy

• Stay current on GenAI, AI/ML, cloud technologies, and modern engineering practices.
• SRE DevOps Experience
• Encourage innovation while balancing business commitments.
• Contribute to long-term engineering strategy and platform roadmaps.

Most Important Qualifications

• Strong people and performance management experience
• Leadership experience within large service-delivery organizations (Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, etc.)
• Broad engineering and AI knowledge
• Experience with modern languages such as Python or C#
• Azure cloud experience
• DevOps and CI/CD understanding
• SRE DevOps Experience
