Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing team of software engineers. This role combines people management with technical leadership. You will be responsible for strategic initiatives, overseeing product delivery, and ensuring high code quality and team productivity. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, deep project delivery experience, and a passion for mentorship and team culture. Additionally, exposure to emerging AI paradigms such as Agentic AI systems will be highly valuable, especially in driving intelligent automation and enhancing engineering productivity.

About the Role

This role combines people management with technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 5–10 engineers across one or more product verticals.
• Own delivery for large-scale, high-impact software projects end-to-end.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and stakeholders to define and execute the roadmap.
• Participate in hands-on coding if required.
• Ensure timely delivery, high quality, and scalability of software systems.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in management/leadership.
• Strong backend experience: Java, Spring Boot, REST.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native apps (AWS).
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, CI/CD, DevOps.
• Understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proven ability to build and mentor teams.

Required Skills

• Strong backend experience: Java, Spring Boot, REST.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native apps (AWS).
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile, CI/CD, DevOps.
• Understanding of SQL & NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Healthcare / FinTech / SaaS.
• Use of Gen AI tools (Cursor, Codex, Claude Code).
• Experience with Agentic AI systems (autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, multi-agent systems).
• Exposure to React.
• Familiarity with Databricks, AWS Sagemaker, Kafka, Spark, MongoDB, etc.
• Experience scaling teams.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (HITRUST, SOC2, GDPR).
