The Embedded Engineering Manager for CNS V&V will provide technical and operational leadership to a high-performing team of embedded avionics engineers responsible for software verification across CNS Center of Excellence products. This role is accountable for ensuring successful product certification through effective management of cost, schedule, and quality. In alignment with NPD transformation objectives, the incumbent will drive standardization of test frameworks, expand automation, deploy simulation capabilities, and strengthen process handoffs by leveraging technology and adopting best practices across aerospace project teams to improve product cycle time, quality, and cost efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage test and verification activities for CNS programs.
  • Own program execution to achieve defined metrics and stakeholder expectations across quality engineering, planning, execution, delivery, and support, in close coordination with CNS systems, software teams, leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Drive a strong management operating system and lead initiatives targeted at reducing cost and cycle time in alignment with NPD transformation objectives.
  • Own workforce planning, hiring, and team capability development to ensure the organization is staffed with the right talent, skills, and capacity to meet current and future delivery commitments with quality and schedule adherence.
  • Build and sustain a strong management operating system with internal stakeholders, including project teams, peers, and engineering centers of excellence, as well as external stakeholders such as CNS systems and software teams, program IPT, and leadership teams at both HTS and global levels.
  • Partner with CNS V&V leadership to support growth initiatives and execute strategic processes such as STRAP, Annual Operating Plans (AOP), Management Resource Reviews (MRR), and Talent Management Reviews (TRR).
  • Promote a culture of business-driven innovation that builds a strong pipeline of technology-forward and market-relevant offerings.
  • Support budget forecasting and planning, provide guidance to the team, and review and approve program estimates and high-value CAPEX and OPEX expenditures in accordance with authorization guidelines.
  • Own the attraction, selection, development, and retention of high-caliber talent while building a strong succession pipeline and creating a culture of accountability for talent identification and growth.
  • Cultivate a performance-driven culture that promotes high employee performance, goal alignment, engagement, and talent processes aligned with business strategy.
  • Foster an inclusive workplace that values diversity, learning, coaching, and continuous development.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing embedded engineering team by setting clear expectations, driving accountability, providing timely feedback, and investing in coaching, mentoring, and capability building at individual and team levels.
  • Drive performance management, career development, retention, and succession planning processes to strengthen organizational capability, build leadership bench strength, and sustain long-term business performance.
  • Create an environment of accountability, collaboration, and inclusion by promoting employee engagement, recognizing contributions, addressing development needs, and supporting effective change management across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, with 13+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of Sw Testing, RTCA DO-178C, V&V guidelines and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to influence technical, management, and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams within a global matrix organization.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a global organization.
  • Excellent execution focus with a strong commitment to responsiveness to customers, teams, and management.
  • Proven people leadership skills, with the ability to identify team challenges quickly, foster collaboration, and ensure transparency and fairness in decision-making.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and guide experienced engineers and technical leaders.
  • Strong advocate for building a performance culture through HOS and LPD practices.
