Role Description

Job Title: Engineering Executive Manager

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid)

Industry :Banking (Prefer Domain)

Experience :18+ Years

Impact & Contribution:

  • To provide leadership driving strategic alignment and operational efficiency in engineering excellence for India-based squad members.
  • Participate in planning, defining and high-level designing of solutions. Assist squads to identify the right technologies and ensure sound architectural decisions.
  • Ensuring high-quality delivery and Engineering excellence for India-based squad members.
  • Drive and foster a technology culture of continuous improvement and uplift Chapter maturity through sharing, learning and problem solving across Chapter Areas.
  • Pace the way for squads to deliver autonomously at pace, removing blockers, decouple applications and streamlining processes.
  • Improvement to Engineering governance and control standards.
  • Efficient handling of interdependencies among the crews/squads and improved project outcomes.

Reporting Lines:

Direct line reporting into the head of Business Banking Technology

Roles & Responsibilities:

Leader of People

  • Foster a culture of sharing, learning, and problem-solving across Chapter Areas
  • Track the maturity level of squads / Chapters and build teams with high tech capability
  • Ensure adherence to engineering governance and control standards
  • Enhance strategic coordination and manage tech dependencies across squads and crews
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Evaluate crew/squads / chapter capabilities and identify areas for improvement. Conduct workforce planning aligned to the BU/Crews
  • Tracking financials at the domain level. Inputs to the quarterly big room planning
  • Track the annual metrics and OKRs at the domain level. Provide inputs to the annual operating plan at the domain level

Essential Skills:

  • 18+ years of experience of experience in relevant field, with 5+ years of experience in core technology organization
  • Experience in developing 3-tier cloud-native application.
  • Frontend: React and Redux (Preferred) or Micro frontend
  • Backend: .Net Core, or C#
  • AI powered engineering
  • Database: SQL and NoSQL experience
  • Public Cloud and Infrastructure as Code (AWS Cloud)
  • Containers/Kubernetes Platform
  • Microservices design and implementation of highly scalable APIs
  • CI/CD tools (i.e. GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus)
  • Solution and System Design
  • Application Security
  • Observability – Customer Services and IT Systems
  • Code quality control through peer programming, code review and automated pipeline release management
  • Mentoring and coaching engineering leads and teams
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills. Leadership (including People Management), not just Project Management

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
