Engineering Manager (Full Stack)

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who can remain hands-on with architecture and code while owning delivery, quality, and growth of a technical team of 15+ members. This is a hybrid role combining full stack engineering ownership with people leadership, working closely with the Founder, Founder's Office, and leadership team to build and scale a high-performing engineering function.

Responsibilities:

● Technical Leadership

○ Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 15+ developers across frontend and backend.

○ Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and drive best practices.

○ Own sprint planning, task allocation, and delivery timelines.

○ Act as the technical point of contact between the team and stakeholders/management.

○ Identify skill gaps and drive upskilling within the team.

● Hands-on Development

○ Design and build scalable full stack applications end-to-end.

○   Architect backend services using NestJS, Prisma, PostgreSQL.

○ Design and own database architecture — schema design, indexing, and scalability planning.

○ Build performant frontend applications using React / Next.js, TypeScript.

○ Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, production-grade code.

○ Design and develop microservices-based architecture with service-to-service communication.

○ Build real-time features using WebSockets/Socket.IO (notifications, live updates, chat).

○ Implement JWT authentication, authorization, and role-based access control.

○ Maintain API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.

○ Apply OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and Clean Architecture.

○ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.

● DevOps & Infrastructure

○ Own and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.

○ Deploy, monitor, and manage applications using Docker.

○ Manage and maintain VPS-based infrastructure.

○ Work with AWS and Azure cloud services for hosting, scaling, and infra management.

○ Ensure system reliability, security, and uptime across environments.

 Skills:

● 5–7 years of hands-on full stack development experience.

● Minimum 5 years of experience leading/managing a team of 15+ members.

● Strong expertise in NestJS, Prisma, PostgreSQL (backend).

● Strong expertise in React / Next.js, TypeScript (frontend).

● Solid, holistic (not surface-level) knowledge of:

○ CI/CD pipelines and automation.

○ Docker and containeri zed deployments.

○ VPS server management.

○ AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

● Strong expertise in database architecture — schema design, indexing, normalization, and scaling strategies.

● Strong understanding of REST API design and database optimization.

● Strong hands-on experience with Git, GitLab (branching strategies, merge/PR workflows, pipelines) and structured development processes.

● Strong understanding of automated testing (unit, integration, and/or E2E).

● Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

● Prior experience owning delivery for a team/project end-to-end.

Good to Have:

● Working knowledge of Android (Kotlin) and iOS development — enough to step in as a helping hand when the mobile team needs support (not a primary responsibility).

● Knowledge of C#.

● Experience with Redis and Message Queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS).

● Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration.

● Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK).

● Experience with hiring, performance reviews, or team scaling.

● Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced product environment.
