Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at First American, you will lead a team of skilled engineers to deliver and operate our core mission-critical software platforms using modern tools, techniques, and cloud-native services. You will provide vision and technical leadership to guide your team in designing, delivering, and supporting robust APIs and back-end services. You will collaborate with product management, business development teams, and other cross-functional teams to iteratively design, develop, and validate outcome-driven technology solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and vision to guide a team of engineers in designing, delivering, and supporting robust APIs and back-end services.
• Collaborate with product management, business development teams, and other cross-functional teams to iteratively design, develop, and validate outcome-driven technology solutions.
• Lead the team in achieving ambitious goals, providing regular feedback, and driving continuous improvement. Mentor, coach, train, and support your team and others in their careers and personal growth.
• Program manages strategic engagements working with executives, end-users, technical analysts, and application designers to define the data requirements and structure to answer key business questions and solve complex business problems.
• Lead discussions on data maturity, digital transformation, and functional/industry strategy while recommending appropriate solutions.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years managing cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record for delivering fit-for-purpose technical solutions that balance complexity, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong technical expertise in modern tools, techniques, and cloud-native services.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning and Python programming.
• Exposure to technologies like Gen-AI, LLM.
• Prior work experience in NLP and prediction models.
• Knowledge in Insurance/mortgages or financial domain will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification and Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.

Professional work experience of 12 to 16 years including 4 to 5 years in a managerial role.
