About DViO One
DViO One is a modern, AI-driven marketing data and intelligence platform built for enterprise marketing teams. The product aggregates data from multiple sources, processes it through scalable pipelines, and delivers insights through intuitive interfaces and AI-powered capabilities. We operate at the intersection of marketing analytics, artificial intelligence, and enterprise data infrastructure — building for speed today and enterprise-grade scale tomorrow.
The Role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to own the technical direction of DViO One. You will lead the engineering team, shape architecture, ship product, drive security and compliance, and enable the team to move fast while maintaining high standards of quality. This is a senior, high-ownership role that requires a rare combination of technical depth, leadership maturity, excellent communication, and a refined sense of product craftsmanship.
What You'll Do
Technical Ownership
- Define and maintain the technical direction of the platform
- Own and evolve the current stack where needed:
- Backend: FastAPI, MySQL, Redis, Temporal, Airbyte
- Data & AI: Snowflake, AWS Bedrock
- Frontend: React SPA with Tailwind, shadcn/ui, Recharts
- Infrastructure: Docker on EC2, AWS RDS, Cloudflare Pages
- Evaluate emerging technologies and decide when architectural evolution is required
- Design architectures that balance long-term scalability with the practical needs of a fast-moving environment
- Move fluidly between high-level architectural decisions and low-level implementation
Translating Vision into Product
- Break down complex product requirements into clear engineering milestones
- Define implementation strategies across data pipelines, backend services, APIs, and frontend
- Stay hands-on — prototype features, debug complex issues, review critical code when it matters
Team Leadership & Operational Stability
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers
- Establish engineering practices — code review standards, deployment workflows, testing strategies, documentation
- Onboard new developers quickly, ensure knowledge transfer, and maintain team stability and morale
- Mentor engineers and build a culture of ownership and technical excellence
Security & Compliance
- Apply a security-first mindset across authentication, data pipelines, access controls, and infrastructure
- Prepare the platform for enterprise certifications — SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and other relevant standards
- Build a culture of security awareness across engineering — data protection, privacy, and system resilience in every architectural decision
AI/LLM & Data Engineering
- Apply AI/LLMs meaningfully within the product — marketing data analysis, insight generation, workflow enhancement
- Evaluate trade-offs between custom AI solutions and external model providers
- Integrate AI tools (code generation, testing, documentation, security analysis) into the development process while maintaining reliability and correctness
- Work confidently with data engineering fundamentals — warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, distributed processing, analytics infrastructure
Engineering Fundamentals in the AI Era
- Maintain strong foundational knowledge of programming principles, software architecture, and system design
- Critically evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, security, and architectural alignment
- Ensure the system remains clean, maintainable, and well-understood as AI tools accelerate delivery
Problem Solving & Debugging
- Diagnose complex issues across distributed systems — identify root causes, trace failures across services, infrastructure, and integrations
- Remain calm and analytical during difficult debugging scenarios
- Design custom solutions where off-the-shelf tools fall short
- Prevent future issues through better system design, stronger testing practices, and disciplined engineering decisions
Product Craftsmanship and Taste
- Maintain high standards for code quality, system clarity, and architectural elegance
- Shape the product experience — simplicity, clarity, and intuitive workflows across the interface
- Evolve the platform into a polished enterprise product, not a collection of loosely connected features
Communication
- Work closely with leadership, product teams, and occasionally enterprise customers including senior marketing executives and CMOs
- Explain complex technical systems in clear, structured, non-technical language — architecture, timelines, risks, product capabilities
- Operate with professionalism, clarity of thought, and polished communication in every stakeholder conversation
Startup Speed with Enterprise Discipline
- Operate with agility — rapid iteration, experimentation, pragmatic decisions
- Evolve the platform toward enterprise-grade reliability and operational maturity
- Make thoughtful trade-offs between shipping speed and long-term maintainability
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 7–10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2–3 years in a team leadership, engineering manager, or tech lead role
- Hands-on track record of building and scaling production systems in a fast-moving environment
- Experience working with small engineering teams (3–8 developers)
Technical Skills
Must-have
- Strong backend proficiency — Python / FastAPI preferred
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), Docker, and modern deployment practices
- Working knowledge of data engineering — warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, workflow orchestration
- Hands-on experience integrating AI/LLMs (AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or similar) into production products
- Familiarity with frontend development in React (not expected to own, but expected to review and guide)
Good to have
- Exposure to SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or HIPAA compliance preparation
- Experience with Snowflake, Temporal, Airbyte, Redis
- Prior experience at a data, AI, or SaaS startup
Leadership & Mindset
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and retain small engineering teams
- Strong product sense and taste — cares about code quality, UX polish, and architectural elegance
- Founder-style ownership — treats the product as their own
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making pragmatic trade-offs
- Calm, analytical, and methodical under pressure
Communication
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Comfortable in senior leadership conversations and occasional client-facing interactions
Why DViO One
- Work on a real AI + enterprise data product with live customers
- Own the engineering function end-to-end — architecture, team, product, and standards
- Shape the next phase of a platform at a genuine inflection point
- Small team, high autonomy, meaningful scope
