Role OverviewWe are seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong foundation in mechanical product design using SolidWorks, along with working knowledge of software development processes to effectively lead cross-functional teams. The role involves managing end-to-end product development—from concept design to manufacturable solutions—while coordinating closely with software teams for integrated systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design and development of products using SolidWorks, ensuring manufacturability, structural integrity, and cost efficiency
- Oversee the complete product development lifecycle (design → prototyping → validation → production)
- Manage and coordinate with software development teams (web/app/embedded) to align hardware and software integration
- Translate product requirements into technical specifications and engineering deliverables
- Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) analysis
- Ensure proper documentation including CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and version control
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electronics, manufacturing, and quality assurance
- Mentor and guide engineers across mechanical and software domains
- Drive timelines, milestones, and project execution with accountability
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings)
- Experience in product design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes
- Basic to intermediate understanding of software development workflows (Agile, Git, APIs, system architecture)
- Prior experience managing or coordinating with software developers
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and teams simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in robotics, IoT products, or hardware-software integrated systems
- Exposure to embedded systems or electronics integration
- Familiarity with MERN stack or modern web/app development environments
- Experience in startup or fast-paced product development environments
