Role Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced Director of Engineering Post Purchase Journey to lead all technology initiatives driving the post-order experience. This includes ownership of systems managing orders, returns, replacements, exchanges, after-sales service and operational integrations with WMS, logistics platforms, SAP systems and analytics pipelines.
The ideal candidate will combine technical depth with strong leadership and system design capabilities, working closely with the CTO, Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Project Managers to build scalable, high-performance, and data-driven post-purchase systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the CTO to define and execute the post-purchase technology roadmap and architecture.
- Lead design and development of systems supporting returns, replacements, exchanges, service requests and operational workflows.
- Own and manage integrations with SAP systems, analytics platforms, WMS, logistics partners, CRM tools and POS systems.
- Define and maintain a scalable, modular architecture leveraging microservices, serverless functions and event-driven design patterns.
- Drive end-to-end reliability, observability and automation across all post-purchase services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, business and CX teams to deliver outcomes that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Establish engineering best practices including code review standards, API governance and documentation discipline.
- Mentor and guide Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to build strong engineering teams and promote technical excellence.
- Implement KPIs and tracking mechanisms, driving post-purchase analytics and reporting initiatives.

Qualifications
- 1013 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-4 years in a Director or Senior Engineering Leadership role.
- Proven experience architecting and scaling e-commerce or D2C and offline post-purchase systems integrating with SAP, WMS, or logistics platforms.
- Strong technical expertise in backend and cloud-native architectures, distributed systems and modern DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in Node.js/NestJS, event-driven design and large-scale API integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS architecture including Kubernetes, serverless deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience leading data and analytics integrations, building APIs or pipelines for internal reporting systems.
- Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of agile frameworks and engineering management best practices.
