Engineering Manager

Position Overview -As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and evolution of our software products. You will lead one or more development teams, manage software development processes, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. This role demands technical leadership, resource management, and collaboration across various stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and manage one or more product development teams, fostering an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.

• Product Development: Oversee the design and development of data-centric applications, microservices, and APIs, ensuring the successful completion of the full software development lifecycle, from design through to production.

• System Architecture: Ensure that all products are designed with scalability, flexibility, and security, and aligned with Creditsafe's enterprise architecture.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Resource Management: Efficiently manage and allocate resources across projects, balancing priorities to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

• Engineering Excellence: Advocate for best practices in software engineering, including continuous integration, test-driven development, secure coding, and cloud optimization (AWS/Azure).

• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and ensure scalability and reliability in system operations.

• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices within the codebase and infrastructure, ensuring adherence to information security standards.

• Agile Practices: Lead Agile methodologies, manage risks, and ensure effective cross-functional collaboration and timely delivery.

• Technical Innovation: Stay current with industry trends, proactively proposing innovations and improvements to system architecture.

• Mentorship & Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent, fostering continuous development within the team.

Required Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in software design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven full-stack development experience, with hands-on proficiency in programming languages such as .NET (Preferred), Java, JavaScript, or Python.

• Strong expertise in system architecture, with experience in designing scalable and flexible software systems.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including resource management, scalability, and optimization.

• Proficiency in database management (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and performance tuning.

• Deep knowledge of engineering best practices: DevOps, CI/CD, version control, testing, and security compliance.

• Experience working in Agile development environments, managing risks, timelines, and multi-disciplinary teams.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.

• Proven experience in stakeholder management, aligning technical solutions with business goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Creditsafe's tech stack (Python, Linux, AWS services for data ingestion, storage, and processing, including serverless services and databases).

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), version control (GitLab, Bitbucket), and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

• Knowledge of web services architectures, including RESTful services, microservices, and Single Page Applications (React, Angular).

• AWS Solutions Architect certification is a plus. HR Documentation Public Access
