Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong expertise in Java, Hibernate, and the Cards & Payments domain. The candidate will lead engineering teams, oversee application design and delivery, drive technical excellence, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable payment processing solutions.

Experience

12–16 years of overall IT experience.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Hibernate.
• Extensive experience in enterprise application development.
• Strong understanding of Cards & Payments domain.
• Knowledge of card issuance, authorization, clearing, settlement, and dispute management.
• Experience in Java application architecture and design.
• Strong knowledge of Hibernate ORM, data modeling, and database performance tuning.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and transaction management.
• Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Strong technical leadership and engineering team management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise Java and Hibernate applications supporting Cards & Payments platforms.
2. Manage engineering teams and drive project planning, prioritization, and timely delivery of business requirements.
3. Define scalable and resilient application architecture for high-volume payment processing systems.
4. Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and compliance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
5. Ensure secure coding practices, transaction integrity, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
6. Drive code reviews, technical standards, automated testing, and continuous integration practices.
7. Optimize Java applications, Hibernate components, and database performance.
8. Oversee production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
9. Monitor application performance, availability, and reliability through effective logging and monitoring.
10. Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams.
11. Coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams for capacity planning, deployments, and application stability.
12. Align engineering roadmaps with business objectives and continuously improve payment platform performance.
