Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery by breaking initiatives into actionable work, prioritizing effectively, removing blockers, and keeping projects on track.
• Establish and maintain strong engineering practices across code quality, testing, observability, reviews, releases, and on-call processes.
• Manage and mentor engineers through regular 1:1s, constructive feedback, coaching, and career development.
• Identify technical trade-offs, risks, and dependencies early and drive decisions through to completion.
• Establish effective engineering processes around sprint planning, retrospectives, releases, and incident reviews.
• Balance delivery expectations with sustainable engineering practices and team capacity.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on programming experience with Node.js, Python, React, or similar technologies.
• Strong proficiency in at least two of Node.js, Python, or React, with enough familiarity with the others to participate in technical reviews and support the team.
• Good understanding of software architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, and technical trade-offs.
• Experience leading engineering teams while remaining actively involved in technical work.
• Experience conducting regular 1:1s, providing performance feedback, and supporting engineer development.
• Proven ability to manage delivery, prioritize work, remove blockers, and communicate changes or trade-offs clearly.
