Responsibilities:
- As an Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will span across all aspects of software development including design, development, production, QA and testing.
- Implementing and maintaining overall engineering objectives and initiatives.
- Lead a team and represent both your engineering team and its projects in front of business leaders and executives.
- Overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant business impact.
- Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide solutions to help them succeed in their business goals.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
- Work on strategy and help set direction while staying on top of the day to day software development Manage headcount, deliverables, schedules across ongoing projects, ensure that timelines are met in accordance with the project roadmap.
- Direct and provide ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors, set objectives, review performances, define growth plan and nurture.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional experience in architecting, developing, and shipping software products.
- 2+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teams, ideally of 10+ engineers.
- Solid software development background including design patterns, data structures, test driven development
- Software development experience in building web services and highly scalable applications
- Good to have exposure in Backend development using Python, Django as that is what we work on, but we're open to evaluating people using different languages and frameworks.
- Good understanding of relational databases (preferred - MySQL / PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (preferred – MongoDB).
- Worked with IaaS like AWS / GCP / Azure etc, Message Brokers and Containers.
