Role Overview: The Engineering Manager will drive Aerems tech vision, architecture direction, and high-velocity execution in select verticals across group. We are looking for a category-defining 0→1 and 1→10 and beyond tech leader with strong startup DNA, someone who has built and scaled complex, multi-stakeholder platforms. About Aerem Aerem is building India's end-to-end platform for distributed solar, integrating financing, commerce, installer operations, monitoring and customer experiences into one technology platform. We're looking for an Engineering Manager to build and scale a high-performing engineering organization that delivers with speed, quality and ownership.

What You'll Do

• Own engineering execution across select products and platforms

• Build, mentor and lead a high-performing engineering teams

• Own sprint planning, delivery, release management and engineering metrics

• Partner closely with Product, Design and Business tDrive architecture decisions that ensure scalability, maintainability, and long-term platform evolution

• Own the reliability, performance, and availability of the platforms and services managed by your team

• Continuously improve system architecture, engineering processes, and operational excellence to support business growth teams to translate business priorities into scalable technology solutions

• Hire exceptional engineers and build a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement Technical Expectations

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with solid system design knowledge

• Experience building and scaling modern web applications and APIs with hands on approach wherever needed

• AI-native development mindset with experience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity

• Experience with our technology stack: React, React Native, Node.js, Java, Python, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS

• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, databases, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices

• Ability to review code, mentor engineers, and make pragmatic technical decisions

• Comfortable balancing hands-on technical contributions with people leadership

What We're Looking For

• 6–9 years of software engineering experience with 2+ years managing engineering teams

• Proven experience delivering software products in a startup or high-growth environment

• Strong track record of leading engineering teams and driving execution

• Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Strong product thinking with the ability to balance speed, quality, and technical debt

• High ownership, bias for action, and pragmatic problem-solving skills Work Schedule

Location: Mumbai (Work from Office)

Working Days: Monday to Friday, with the 1st and last Saturday of every month as working days
