Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking a Tech Project Manager to lead structured delivery across complex, multi-team initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is PM-driven, highly organised, and able to bring rigour and clarity into ambiguous environments.
The role requires someone who can navigate stakeholders independently, drive structured execution across cross-functional teams, and relentlessly follow up to ensure progress. Prior experience with vendor coordination and work within financial services, risk, and compliance domains is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Delivery Management (Primary Focus)
- Drive end-to-end project planning, execution, and delivery across engineering, product, data, compliance, and operations teams.
- Establish and maintain structured delivery plans, sprint plans, WBS, RAID logs, decision registers, and program reporting.
- Build quarterly and annual roadmaps for technology and capability development.
- Bring rigour, discipline, and predictability to execution; manage risks, dependencies, scope, and timelines.
- Run governance routines: status reviews, steering updates, stakeholder cadences, and cross-team alignment forums.
- Demonstrate a persistent, action-driven approach — follow up relentlessly, close loops, and ensure accountability.
- Documentation & Clarity-Building
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation including BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflows, project plans, and decision records.
- Translate fragmented or ambiguous input into clear, structured artefacts that drive alignment.
- Ensure teams operate with a documentation-first and audit-ready mindset.
- Stakeholder Management
- Engage independently with senior technology, business, operations, risk, procurement, and vendor stakeholders.
- Ensure clear expectations, alignment, and transparency across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Navigate organisational ambiguity, conflicting priorities, and fragmented processes with confidence and ownership.
- Business Analysis & Process Definition
- Lead requirements gathering and process mapping for workflows, tracking mechanisms, and case-management-related capabilities.
- Simplify complex or unclear requirements into structured workflows and actionable specifications.
- Support translation of regulatory/business requirements into clear deliverables for engineering teams.
- Vendor & Procurement Management
- Coordinate vendor engagement, onboarding, delivery milestones, and commercial/procurement alignment.
- Ensure vendors meet expectations regarding timelines, documentation, quality, and operational readiness.
- Provide structured oversight and escalate issues where needed.
- Cross-Functional Delivery in Ambiguous Environments
- Manage setup, configuration, governance, and integration of SaaS platforms supporting workflow and case management needs.
- Operate effectively in environments with unclear ownership, evolving processes, or organisational gaps.
- Bring order to ambiguity using documentation, structured communication, and disciplined follow-through.
- Identify blockers early and proactively drive resolutions across teams.
Overview
Additional information about the program:
The
Customer Assurance (CA) Programme is a strategic initiative to modernise and scale how the organisation responds to
customer due‑diligence, assurance, and trust requests. The programme is anchored on the deployment of a
centralised Trust Centre, powered by
SafeBase (by Drata), to provide
secure, automated, and consistent responses to customer questionnaires while reducing operational burden on assurance teams.
The programme is a core component of the broader
Operational Risk and Controls portfolio and underpins enterprise commitments around
transparency, regulatory confidence, and customer trust.
Business Problem
- Customer assurance requests are high‑volume, manual, and fragmented across teams and tools.
- Lack of central governance and automation results in:
- Long response times
- Repetitive manual data entry
- Inconsistent answers to customers
- High dependency on SMEs and audit teams
- Growing regulatory and client expectations make the current operating model unsustainable at scale.
Current Status
- Vendor contract completed and platform onboarded (Drata / SafeBase)
- Production architecture governance and approvals in progress, targeting mid‑April go‑live
- Knowledge base build‑out and risk acceptance activities underway
Why an Engineering Lead in India Is Critical
The Programme Has Moved From Vendor Onboarding To Execution And Scale, Creating a Clear Need For Hands‑on Engineering Leadership. The India‑based Engineering Lead Will
- Own end‑to‑end engineering delivery of the Customer Assurance Trust Centre
- Drive production readiness, governance artefacts (design documents and review) and release execution
- Act as the single engineering accountable across vendors, internal platforms, and assurance stakeholders
- Reduce dependency on ad‑hoc contractor support and unblock delayed milestones
- Enable transition from Phase 1 go‑live to Phase 2 scale‑out without delivery risk
Role Scope – Engineering Lead (India)
- Technical ownership of the Customer Assurance Trust Centre
- Governance, architecture, and release management ownership
- Vendor and stakeholder coordination (Security, Risk, Ops, Compliance)
- Delivery of roadmap milestones and operational stability
- Establishing sustainable engineering run‑books and controls
Requirements
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in Project Management, Business Analysis, or Program Delivery roles.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑team projects with strong rigour and documentation discipline.
- Strong skills in documentation, communication, requirements definition, process mapping, and governance.
- Ability to work persistently and assertively — pushing teams, tracking actions, and driving closure.
- Experience coordinating with procurement, PMO, and vendor teams.
- Familiarity with case‑management concepts (Pega, Appian, SNOW, Salesforce FSC) is helpful but not mandatory.
- Working knowledge of cloud, data, or engineering concepts (coordination level, not deep architecture).
- Agile delivery experience; certifications (PMP, Agile, PRINCE2, SAFe) are an advantage.
