Engineer - Production Planning & Control (Dahej B)

JOB PURPOSE :

The PPC Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing production planning, scheduling, and inventory control to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. This role will ensure timely execution of production plans while coordinating with multiple departments, including Production, Quality, GFRC, Warehouse, Logistics, Procurement, Sales Execution and Marketing to meet customer demands efficiently.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develop and implement monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and resource availability.
• Coordinate with the sales and marketing team to align production schedules with demand.
• Monitor plant capacity utilization and propose adjustments to optimize efficiency.
• Ensure raw materials and consumables are available as per production requirements.
• Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
• Work closely with the procurement and warehouse teams to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Implement inventory control measures (e.g. safety stock, reorder levels) to minimize wastage and holding costs.
• Monitor real-time production performance and take corrective actions to avoid deviations from the plan.
• Analyze bottlenecks and downtime causes, implementing solutions for process improvement.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Act as the key liaison between production, sales execution, procurement, logistics, and marketing teams.
• Ensure on-time dispatch of finished goods by coordinating with warehouse and logistics teams.
• Prepare and present production reports, KPI dashboards, and progress updates to management.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

B.E. / B. Tech in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. An MBA in Operations / Supply Chain is a plus.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

• 15+ years in Production Planning & Control, preferably in a chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemicals manufacturing company.
